The city is home to not only to auto giants like Ford, GM, and Chrysler but is also one of the nation's largest health care economies. Detroit is also home to the first U.S Patent and Trademark Office outside of Washington D.C.
Welch Packaging Detroit was originally PackSpec, Inc. Packspec was making boxes and custom packaging for nearly 55 years before joining the Welch Packaging family in early 2018. In fact, Clare Tabor, CEO of PackSpec, held the distinction of being the only woman owned container company in the region when she took the reigns in 1965.
Welch Detroit recently moved their facility to Romulus, MI. This move puts them across the street from the Detroit Metro Airport and allowed for an all new conveyor system to be installed. This conveyor system improves the safety and speed of the entire plant.
